What is Scouts?

Scouts is where young people make new friends, have amazing adventures, and learn new skills.

About Us

The Scouts is the UK’s largest mixed youth organisation with more than 450,000 members in the UK and more across the world.
Scouts are do-ers and give-it-a-go-ers. Yes, we go camping, hiking, swimming, abseiling, cycling and canoeing. But we also get to hang out with our friends every week –  having fun, playing games, working in a team and taking on new challenges.

At 1st Burntwood Scout Group, we prepare young people aged 4 to 14 with skills for life.  Young people learn survival skills, first aid, cooking and even expedition skills.  It’s a great way to have fun, make friends, get outdoors, express creativity and experience the wider world.  There’s something for every young person, whatever their physical ability.

It’s exciting being involved with us.  Through everyday adventure, young people experience new challenges that enrich their lives and meet lifelong friends through Scouting.  We are an extremely popular group so if you have a young child interested in joining we encourage you to add them to our waiting list to ensure they get a place.

We believe in bringing people together. We celebrate diversity and stand against intolerance, always. We’re part of a worldwide movement, creating stronger communities and inspiring positive futures.

Adventure …

Is at the heart of everything we do. It is the single most important thing that sets Scouts apart. Through the everyday adventure of Scouting, young people and adult volunteers regularly experience new challenges that enrich their lives.

Over 100 Young People …

Enjoy exciting, challenging, and stimulating activities weekly. This has a positive impact on their lives. Every young person in Scouting enjoys a  range of activities, events and experiences, based around subject areas we call Programme Zones. These zones cover a huge range of activities, from outdoor and physical pursuits to community involvement, creative expression and learning about the wider world.
