Skills for Life

We work with young people to give them #skillsforlife and adventures with others. We welcome volunteers who are enthusiastic and keen to get involved.

Welcome to 1st Burntwood

We are the 1st Burntwood Scout Group, a thriving and popular Group with over 100 members. Our Group consists of a Squirrel Drey,  two Beaver Colonies, two Cub Packs & a Scout Troop enjoying the fun and adventure that Scouting brings.

Scouts prepares young people with skills for life – helping them speak up and play their part. Each week we give almost half a million people aged 6-25 the skills they need for school, college, university, the job interview, the important speech, the tricky challenge and the big dreams: the skills they need for life.

We’re talking about teamwork, leadership and resilience & skills that have helped Scouts become everything from teachers and social workers to astronauts and Olympians.

We believe in bringing people together. We celebrate diversity and stand against intolerance, always. We’re part of a worldwide movement, creating stronger communities and inspiring positive futures.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
